Responsibilities & Context
- Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export laws, and tariffs.
- Clearance Management: Oversee the efficient clearance of e-commerce shipments at the airport, ensuring timely release.
- Documentation: Manage required documentation for customs declarations, including invoices, certificates, and import/export permits.
- Coordination: Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and logistics teams to resolve clearance issues.
- Duty & Tax Calculation: Ensure proper calculation and payment of duties, taxes, and fees on shipments.
- Process Optimization: Improve customs clearance procedures for faster processing and reduced delays.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to customs violations, delays, or fines.
- Compliance Monitoring: Keep updated on changing regulations and ensure team adherence to new laws and guidelines.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on customs clearance performance, issues, and KPIs for senior management.
